Study shows that plant-based diets have a high potential for reducing carbon footprints and climate change. Shifting to a plant-based diet consisting mainly of fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts could reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to current dietary patterns in most industrialized countries.

“animal products, both meat, and dairy, in general, require more resources and cause higher emissions than plant-based alternatives.”  -United Nations Environment Program

“Reducing livestock herds would also reduce emissions of methane, which is the second largest contributor to global warming after carbon dioxide.”  -The World Health Organization
